Common Threads Music and Craft will be held from February 11-15, 2026 at Shepherds Spring Retreat Center in Sharpsburg, MD.

Registration costs include tuition and craft supplies/equipment for three days of classes, plus evening activities; and room and board at Shepherd’s Spring Retreat Center.
Room and board covers dinner on Thursday after arrival, all meals for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and breakfast on Monday morning before departure. The day student rate covers lunch and dinner for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Let us know if you would like to join us for dinner on Thursday or breakfast on any of the other days!
Rooms in the Lodge are hotel-style, with a private attached bathroom. These are single or double occupancy (single occupancy space is limited!). Triple occupancy is possible for a reduced rate upon request – please inquire for details. Some rooms have a double bed and some have two twin beds; many also have pull-out sleep sofas. If you are attending with a spouse and would prefer a double bed, or if you would like to request a specific roommate in a room with separate beds, let us know.
We encourage folks to help us make the best use of the available space by signing up for double occupancy if you are willing.
Tent or RV camping can also be accommodated upon inquiry, but bear in mind that it will be February!
Day Student rates are available for those who live nearby or prefer to stay off-site during the event. The day student fee includes tuition and supplies, plus lunch and dinner at Shepherds Spring from Thursday evening through Sunday evening so that you can fully participate with the rest of the group.
Work-Study is available this year! We have one work-study scholarship available, for $350 off the registration cost. Duties include helping us move chairs/tables and otherwise helping with room setup and cleanup, helping us set up the silent auction, check-in and/or check-out as needed, and being available to run an errand or two into town if necessary. Please contact us for more information if you are interested in applying!
Other Scholarships are available through organizations such as Country Dance and Song Society, American Recorder Society, or the Viola da Gamba Society.
Prices include tuition, lodging and meals, and crafting materials/equipment. Rates are as follows:
- Lodge, Single Occupancy $869
- Lodge, Double Occupancy $796
- Day Student $545
- Lodge, Triple Occupancy: This option is available for a reduced cost, but accommodations are tight! If you’re interested in this option, we ask that you have a group organized who are willing to share a triple room.

Cancellation Policy:
• Cancellation before Oct. 1, 2024: Full Refund
• Cancellation before Dec. 15, 2024: 75% Refund
No refunds after Dec. 15, because we will be committed to expenses for the venue, faculty, and travel. Thanks for your understanding!
